Dynamics of the classroom and interactions with classmates play a crucial role in student social development. Heather Christensen is a Learning Disability teacher who supports student all the way from elementary to graduation.
“I think many of the misconceptions around the online format of MNSync were built around the early days of the pandemic. We’ve progressed the virtual environment since then and parents and caregivers can expect a true sense of community through MNSync. MNSync is ‘synchronous’—it’s in the name! We meet everyday and we build a real connection within the classroom.” — Heather Christensen Learning Disability Teacher

Every student is “college material.” This core belief is the driving idea behind the Minnesota Office of Higher Education's new program called Direct Admissions.
RPS high schools are participating in this exciting new program, allowing seniors to apply to college with confidence, knowing that the "will I get in?" question has already been answered with a "YES!"

Over the last two days, our secondary students have been gaining insight into postsecondary pathways. 50 colleges from around the country attended college fairs at Century, John Marshall, and Mayo High Schools to help students learn more about college and career opportunities.

Brittany Lehrke is a special education teacher who runs her classroom from Boston, MA. She’s celebrating Learning Disability Awareness Month with her students in a fully accessible classroom within MNSync Online.
“MNSync Online offers an inclusive space for kids who may have anxiety around public spaces. In a traditional in-person classroom, these students may be overstimulated by various environmental factors. Here, students can practice self-regulation, excuse themselves if needed, and enjoy independence in a controlled environment—like their own homes.” — Brittany Lehrke
MNSync Online is an option for students of any ability. If an online platform is right for your student, please visit https://www.rochesterschools.org/o/mnso/.
